FRED STONE

Lone Star Legacy
"In the late forties, Vaughn Monroe released a top- selling record called “Ghost Riders in the Sky.” It made such a strong impression on me that I promised myself that some day I would create a painting with this very same theme.

This image was created for both a poster and a large mural for the lobby at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. It depicts the evolution of the horse in Texas, from cowboys chasing a herd of stampeding cattle across a stormy sky to the modern-day race horse."
